Course of studies, specific fields and terms:

Classes and lectures:

  • internship (external block practical course, 10 SWS)

Workload:

  • 150 hours in-classroom work

Contents of teaching:

  • The orientation practical course serves the acquisition of first practical experiences in general areas or with reference to patient care. Students are provided with insights into the principles of professional ethics as well as institutional, legal and structural aspects of the care of patients. to provide them with the framework conditions of the respective activity which will enable them to apply it appropriately in their future professional activity.
  • The orientation internship can be carried out as a block or during the semester.
  • It takes place in interdisciplinary health care facilities.
  • Prerequisite: All modules of the first 3 semesters have been completed and the exams have at least been registered.
  • You can find forms and guidelines for the internship in the Moodle course on internships starting in 2020.

Qualification-goals/Competencies:

  • Possibility of specialising or deepening certain areas of psychology. Therefore, all internships are recognized which make a corresponding later activity as a graduate of the Bachelor of Psychology sufficiently possible.

Notes:

Prerequisites for enrolling in the module:
- Students may not begin the internship until they have earned at least 80 credit points or have completed the modules for the first three semesters and have already registered for the exam.

- Completion of the internship

Module exam(s):
- PY3701-L1: Orientation Internship, Internship Report, 100% of the module grade

Students must apply for this independently. The internship is not tied to a specific semester, but the requirements specified in the SGO must be observed.
The orientation internship must be registered with the internship coordinator for approval, and its completion must be confirmed by the internship site. An internship report must be prepared regarding the orientation internship, which is part of the module exam. The report must be submitted no later than six weeks after the end of the internship. Forms and guidelines for the internship can be found in the Moodle course on internships for the Bachelor’s in Psychology.

The internship coordinators are the module coordinator and the instructors.
