Student representatives

The student representatives at the University of Lübeck form the backbone of student co-determination and community. They represent the interests of students vis-à-vis the university, politics and the public. They work closely with the individual departments, the university management and other committees to create an optimal study environment.

The student representation at the University of Lübeck is made up of the General Students' Committee (AStA), the Student Parliament (StuPa), the four student councils for the respective departments, as well as student members in committees of the university bodies and various advisory boards.

The AStA is the executive body of the student body and the mouthpiece of the students. It organizes events, supports student initiatives and actively campaigns for students' rights. In addition, the AStA is the point of contact for advice and support in various life situations - be it with study problems, financial issues or cultural concerns.

The student parliament is the highest decision-making body of the student body. This is where important decisions are made, such as the distribution of financial resources or the strategic direction of student representation. Every student can help shape the work of the StuPa and actively participate in meetings.

The student councils are the direct contacts for students on the respective degree programs. They promote exchange within the degree programmes, organize events and provide advice and support with questions about studies and examinations.

The student representatives offer the opportunity to actively participate in the life of the university, gain valuable experience and make a difference. Through your involvement, you can help to make the university a place where all students feel comfortable and can develop. At the same time, you will learn to take on responsibility, work in a team and gain new perspectives.
