The Centre for Doctoral Studies (CDSL) is the central institution for the promotion of academics in the early stages of their careers and is therefore the point of contact for all those interested in doing a doctorate, doctoral researchers and supervisors.
The CDSL offers a comprehensive qualification and further education program.
In addition, it provides comprehensive information on all non-primarily academic doctoral matters and offers individual counselling, including in cases of conflict.
On the following pages you will find all the information you need about doctoral studies at UzL.
All UzL doctoral researchers must register in the CDSL. Registration is preceded by the following steps:
- Compulsory enrollment for doctoral studies takes place via the Student Service Centre. Further information on enrollment can be found here. The International Office is responsible for the enrollment of international doctoral researchers.
- If you are enrolled at another university at the same time and remain enrolled, you cannot enroll at UzL. In this case, we require a certificate of enrollment from the other university.
- Your doctoral project must be registered with the Doctoral Office for Medicine and approved by the Doctoral Commission for Medicine. You need proof that your doctoral project has been accepted by the doctoral committee!
- Your admission requirements for the doctorate must be checked at the MINT doctoral office. You will need proof that you have been admitted
You can only register at the CDSL once you have completed these steps - regardless of whether you are doing an individual or structured doctorate.
By registering with CDSL, you can benefit from our wide range of offers. Among other things, we offer you
- a central advice centre for doctoral researchers
- a free qualification program to prepare you for your university or non-university career
- access to scholarships through the CDSL
