- Clinical pharmacology: Common errors in drug administration and strategies for avoiding errors
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Knowledge and understanding: The students know and understand the basics of the special pathology of frequently occurring clinical pictures of general surgery and other surgical disciplines (traumatology, cardio- and vascular surgery)
- Knowledge and understanding: They have a sound knowledge and understanding of the aetiology, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of epidemiologically significant ENT diseases that are particularly relevant to the field of nursing due to their prevalence and/or clinical causes. They are particularly sensitised to diseases that can occur at an early age (e.g. otitis media)
- Knowledge and understanding: They are able to integrate clinical knowledge on a case-by-case basis with regard to nursing diagnostics and decision-making (exemplarily limited to diseases with high prevalence in nursing care settings)
- Knowledge and understanding: The students know and understand the mechanisms of action, the intended and undesired effects as well as interactions, incompatibilities and suitable or unsuitable forms of application of frequently used drugs in the treatment of somatic and mental illnesses with high exemplary relevance in the care of critically ill people or people with oncological, geriatric or paediatric illnesses
- Knowledge and understanding: They are sensitised to special features in pharmacological therapy depending on gender, age (children and the elderly) and certain life circumstances (especially pregnancy, breastfeeding) and health risk situations (e.g. renal insufficiency, liver insufficiency)
- Knowledge and understanding: You know and understand the differences between medicinal products and medical devices and the requirements for medicinal product authorisation and have knowledge of the methods for monitoring and reporting adverse effects (incl. classification)
- Knowledge and understanding: You are sensitised to possible errors in the application of medicines and know various strategies for avoiding errors
- Use, application and generation of knowledge: They are able to adequately apply knowledge and understanding in the observation and assessment of care-relevant needs and problems of people in need of care as well as in the consecutive nursing decision-making processes
- Communication and cooperation: You can describe medically relevant problems and needs that are observed in the context of nursing diagnostics for people in need of care with surgical and other clinical pictures using appropriate specialist terminology.
