- Medical diagnostics (seminar, 1 SWS)
- Dermatology for nursing professions (lecture, 1 SWS)
- Main lecture Surgery (lecture, 2 SWS)

Contents of teaching:
- Special pathology on frequently occurring clinical pictures in general surgery and other surgical disciplines (including cardiovascular surgery, paediatric surgery, neurosurgery)
- Basic clinical knowledge of gynaecology and obstetrics
- Specialisation: Diagnostic criteria, examination methods, classifications and specialist vocabulary for the adequate description of specific general surgical / vascular surgical / cardiac surgical interventions (e.g. percutaneous transluminal angiolasty / PTA, aorto-coronary vein bypass / ACVB)
- Case-related transfer of clinical knowledge content to nursing diagnostics and decision-making for people in need of care of all age groups with surgical diseases
- Special disease theory on dermatological clinical pictures and findings that are of particular relevance to the nursing field due to their prevalence or for clinical reasons (especially chronic wounds and wound healing disorders, atopic eczema, psoriasis, urticaria and allergic skin diseases, white and black skin cancer, skin infections, itching)
- In-depth: Diagnostic criteria, examination methods, classifications and specialist vocabulary for the adequate description of pathological skin changes (efflorescences) and wound conditions
- In-depth: Role of psychological factors in the development, treatment and management of dermatological diseases or wound healing disorders (psyche of the skin)
- Specialisation: Methods of medical diagnostics (ECG; sonography, X-ray, MRI, CT, angiography)
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Broadening/deepening knowledge: Students know and understand the basics of special pathology for frequently occurring clinical pictures in general surgery and other surgical disciplines (including orthopaedics and traumatology, cardio- and vascular surgery, paediatric surgery).
- Broadening/deepening knowledge: They know and understand the basics of special pathology for frequently occurring clinical pictures in gynaecology and are fundamentally familiar with the physiological course of pregnancy, birth and the puerperium as well as with the aetiology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of perinatal complications
- Broadening/deepening knowledge: They have a sound knowledge and understanding of the aetiology, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of dermatological diseases and wound healing disorders that are of particular relevance to the field of nursing due to their prevalence and/or clinical reasons. They are particularly sensitised to the role of psychological factors in the development, treatment and management of dermatological diseases and wound healing disorders as well as age-specific dermatological diseases (e.g. neurodermatitis)
- Broadening/deepening knowledge: You will be able to explain the indications, mechanisms and applications of frequently used medical technology procedures for imaging and functional diagnostics (see course content).
- Understanding of knowledge: They are able to integrate clinical knowledge on a case-by-case basis with regard to nursing diagnostics and decision-making (exemplarily limited to diseases with a high prevalence in nursing care settings)
- Utilisation and transfer: They are able to adequately apply knowledge and understanding in the observation and assessment of care-relevant needs and problems of people in need of care as well as in the consecutive nursing decision-making processes.
- Communication and cooperation: You can describe medically relevant problems and needs that can be observed in the context of nursing diagnostics for people in need of care with surgical clinical pictures using appropriate specialist terminology.
