Duration
1 Semester
Turnus of offer
each summer semester
Credit points
6
Course of studies, specific fields and terms:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing 2020, compulsory, foundations of human sciences
- Bachelor Applied Nursing (part-time) 2022, optional subject, for equivalence check
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing 2020, compulsory, foundations of human sciences
Classes and lectures:
- Medical microbiology and hygiene (lecture, 2 SWS)
- Functional anatomy (seminar, 1 SWS)
- The basics of physiology for health professionals (lecture, 2 SWS)
Workload:
- 105 hours private studies
- 75 hours in-classroom work
Contents of teaching:
- Fundamentals of anatomy: location, structure, functions and modes of operation of all human organs and organ systems, including the different types of tissue
- Functional anatomy of certain organs and organ systems (musculoskeletal system, nervous system, cardiovascular and respiratory system) and familiarisation with initial pathologies on the specimen
- Fundamentals of physiology: location, structure, functions and modes of operation of all human organs and organ systems, including the different types of tissue
- Fundamentals of infectiology, microbiology and hygiene: types of pathogens, transmission routes, infectious diseases, evidence-based recommendations on prevention and infection protection including immunisation strategies, surveillance and monitoring, tasks of the Robert Koch Institute and other organisations
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Broadening/deepening knowledge: Students know and understand the position and structure of human organs and organ systems.
- Broadening/deepening knowledge: Students know and understand the functions of human organs and organ systems.
- Broadening/deepening knowledge: You have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the interaction between the position, structure and function of certain organ systems (e.g. musculoskeletal system, nervous system and cardiovascular and respiratory system).
- Broadening/deepening knowledge, use and transfer: Students can explain central concepts, theories, interventions and organisations of microbiology, hygiene and infection protection and transfer them to the requirements of hygienic work in nursing practice.
- Understanding of knowledge: Students can research evidence-based recommendations on hygiene and infection protection for healthcare and interpret them appropriately.
- Utilisation and transfer: Students can transfer their basic knowledge and understanding of developmental and cell biology to different organs/organ systems.
- Utilisation and transfer: Students can make initial connections between the structure, position and function of organs and organ systems and basic pathologies.
- Communication and cooperation: You can use technical terms in a targeted manner and communicate in a way that is appropriate for the target group.
Grading through:
- written exam
