- General Bacteriology
- Laboratory techniques for the identification and culture of bacteria
- Antibiotic testing and resistance testing
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Studying major groups of microorganisms, understanding of basic microbiological concepts
- Classification of microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, protozoa and fungi) based on their morphology, structure and metabolic pathways
- Studying major infectious diseases and the causative organisms
- Studying basic mechanisms of the immune response
- Acquiring basic knowledge of safety at work by handling with microorganisms
- Improving the ability of scientific documentation techniques, presentation of data and working in a team
- Basic skills to design and perform their own experiments

- MZ3000-L1: Microbiology, written exam, 60 minutes, 75% of the module grade
