My studies in 100 seconds

Opinions of students

A particular highlight of the physiotherapy course is the dissection course together with the medical students. Not only did I gain a deep understanding of the anatomy of the human body, but I also learned how important interprofessional collaboration between different healthcare professions is.

The work shadowing days in the first semester are also a valuable experience. They make it possible to gain an early insight into the day-to-day work of physiotherapists and to combine theoretical knowledge with practical impressions.

Milena Haag, 2nd semester

This degree enables me to use the diagnostic skills I have learned to support and accompany my patients in the individual course of their illness. The consideration of scientifically sound and target-oriented treatment techniques, combined with a prominent pain module, makes it possible to work in a patient-oriented manner according to the current state of research.

Olivia Bukal, 6th semester

I liked the fact that we learned anatomy together with the doctors in the first semester. The dissection course was a special opportunity to put what we had learned into practice.

The campus is very spacious, which means you sometimes have to walk a long way during breaks. This means you can't always eat in the canteen. On the other hand, the physiotherapy facilities offer the opportunity to prepare your own food.

By dividing the degree program into two groups, the seminars have a pleasant class size.

Piet Bimberg, 2nd semester

Theory and practice perfectly combined:
In my physiotherapy studies, I combine theoretical knowledge with practical work and get to know the body in all its facets. At the same time, I question old approaches scientifically in order to contribute to the further development of physiotherapy and strengthen its status in the healthcare system.

Merle Stein, 6th semester

The mixture of theory and practice is what makes this course so exciting for me. I like reading up on topics and getting to grips with them myself. The direct practical relevance makes what you have learned much more tangible and you know immediately what you have learned the theory for.

What I particularly like about the physiotherapy course is the closeness that develops between the students, but also with the lecturers. There is no fear of contact and by practicing techniques on each other, you get to know each other in a completely different way than if you "only" sit next to each other in lectures.

Introducing the Physiotherapy degree program

Teaching

Theory meets practice! You will be taught evidence-based principles as well as "hands-on" techniques, which you will first practise on your fellow students and later apply to patients.

Research

Research is another essential pillar of our degree program. You benefit directly from the research results by transferring the latest findings directly into teaching.

Frequently asked questions

With us, you will receive two qualifications: a vocational qualification after 3 years (6 semesters) and a Bachelor of Science degree after 3.5 years (7 semesters). Our training combines theoretical and practical instruction with practical application and is always based on the latest scientific findings. One focus is on the constant reflection of one's own actions.

Physiotherapy is partly about treating seriously ill people. You should have no fear of contact and be able to treat people with empathy and compassion. You will be the ones who closely accompany these people on their path to healing and rehabilitation. In turn, you will experience a lot of gratitude and give your patients a new quality of life.

With us, you will learn to put theory directly into practice. The practical lessons involve practicing your physiotherapy treatment skills on your fellow students. So you learn early on not to be afraid of contact.
