Contents of the study program

The Master's degree program combines healthcare and health science topics with computer science and digital technologies in a unique way - an ideal combination for future-oriented specialists.

Joint modules and specialization

In the compulsory modules of our degree program, you will initially work together with other students. This strengthens the exchange of ideas and the sense of community. In the compulsory elective modules, you will come together with students from the same specialization in order to further develop your specialist knowledge.

In the first semester, your courses are mainly characterized by the compulsory modules, while in the following two semesters the proportion of compulsory elective modules increases, giving you more room for your individual interests.

Five main topics

The modules on the Master's degree course are divided into five subject areas. You will acquire in-depth knowledge and practice-oriented skills in the areas of theories and models of healthcare (17 CP), research in health and healthcare sciences (28 CP) and digital healthcare (5 CP). In the subject-specific compulsory elective area (36 CP), you will expand your knowledge in your chosen specialization. The degree program is rounded off by an interdisciplinary elective area (4 CP), in which you can choose from a wide range of courses offered by the university.
You can find more information on the exact content and modules in the curriculum and module handbook.

Research and practical projects

In the second and third semesters, you will actively participate in ongoing research and practical projects or develop your own project in a student group, which you will implement together. These projects are closely supervised and supported. Working on research and practical projects gives you valuable experience that will prepare you well for your future professional challenges.

The Master's thesis

In the fourth semester, you will work independently on a topic of your choice for your Master's thesis. The Master's thesis is closely supervised. You can find a selection of Master's thesis topics from previous graduates here.
