The Examinations Office is responsible for recording students' examination results. It accepts sick notes and processes registrations for final theses and colloquia. It also issues transcripts and certificates.
You must register for all examinations via QIS. You can also view your achievements and print a transcript there.
Please contact us if you notice any errors in the QIS.
If you are ill, you must submit a medical certificate and fill out a form.

The registration form must be signed by the issuing lecturer and you, completed and submitted to the Examination Office. Once the topic and the assessor have been confirmed by the chairperson of the examination board, you and the lecturer issuing the registration form will receive a copy of the registration form with the earliest and latest submission dates (see examination procedure regulations §16).
- At the Examination Office in Building 2, Rooms 11 and 12 (opening hours: Tuesday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., or by appointment)
- You can also hand them in at the information desk in Building A of the UKSH (please put them in an envelope addressed to: Prüfungsamt MINT, Building 2, Rooms 11 and 12)
- There is a mailbox in front of Building 2; outside the opening hours of the Examination Office, exam papers can also be posted there
- Or you can send your thesis by mail (the date of submission is not the date of the postmark, but the date of receipt!)
- As a rule, three bound copies of the bachelor's or master's thesis (no ring binding!) should be submitted (one each for the first examiner, the second examiner, and the examination board)
- If the first and/or second reviewers only want a digital version and no printed copy of the bachelor's or master's thesis, please inform the Examination Office of this when submitting the thesis
- One printed and bound version must be submitted to the Examination Office
- In addition, a digital version of the work (USB stick/CD) must be submitted
- A summary in German and English must be included. If the degree program is taught in English, the English summary is sufficient
- The work must be accompanied by a declaration of independence in accordance with §16, para. 8 of the examination regulations and signed with your original signature
You can find instructions and templates in Moodle
The examination boards have drawn up guidelines for the design of the cover sheet
- If you are ill and unable to work on your bachelor's or master's thesis, the processing time for the thesis can be extended by the duration of your illness. Please submit a medical certificate using the appropriate form to the Examination Office without delay
- If you are unable to meet the deadline for other, unforeseeable reasons, you can apply for an extension of the processing time for your bachelor's or master's thesis. The processing time can then be extended by the duration of the difficulty
To register for the colloquium, you must also complete a registration form (Bachelor's / Master's), which must be signed by you and both examiners and submitted to the Examinations Office. After the date has been confirmed by the chair of the examination board, you will receive a summons to the colloquium. Please submit the registration form to the Examinations Office at least two weeks before the date.
- It is definitely advisable to visit the Examination Office to clarify your account. Alternatively, you can also check your grades online. Once all performance certificates and reviews for your bachelor's or master's thesis are available, your certificate will be sent to you by mail after the processing period has expired (please make sure that your current address is on file)
- If you have completed voluntary courses that you would like to have listed in your Diploma Supplement, you must fill out the application form for inclusion of modules in the Diploma Supplement and submit it to the Examination Office before your final exam (usually the colloquium)
- Please check the details on your identity card against the details in your student data. The correspondence is necessary for the creation of the certificate!!!
- It can take up to two months to prepare the certificate documents
