- What are social emotions and how do they differ from basic emotions, affects, and feelings?
- What role does context play in the experience of emotions?
- Comprehension of the psychological foundations of social emotions and cognitions.
- What is the relevance of emotions to clinical settings?
- Broad topics (open to change): Social learning: what is social learning? What is self-relevant learning? How are ideas/models formed about other people and what role does affect play in this? Social Reward: what role do social rewards play? Controllability: what role does the experience of control play in social learning and emotional experience? Attribution: What are attributions and what role do they play in the experience of emotions? Context: How do contextual features affect the experience of emotions? o Morals/norms: What is the relevance of social morals and norms for the experience of emotions?
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students can understand the psychological foundations of social emotions and cognitions.
- You have the ability to critically evaluate findings in the field of social cognition and their relevance to the clinical context.
- You can differentiate between various concepts of emotion.
