- Emotion regulation: Basics and theoretical models
- Clinical diagnostics of skills for regulating emotions
- Stress management and emotion regulation
- Comparison of different strategies for regulating emotions
- Relevance of emotion regulation for various mental disorders
- Therapeutic interventions to enhance the levels of adaptive emotion regulation skills
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students are able to define basic concepts of emotion regulation.
- They are able to explain current theoretical models of emotion regulation.
- They are able to compare different strategies of emotion regulation.
- They are able to transfer research findings in the field of emotion regulation to clinical and therapeutic practice.
- They are able to judge original research papers on emotion regulation
- They are able to create a poster for a written and an oral presentation of clinical research findings.

- Reading the relevant texts and active participation (50%) in the seminar
Module exam(s):
- PY2908-L1: Emotion regulation, portfolio exam, 100% of the module grade.
Portfolio exam consisting of:
50 points for reading the relevant texts and active participation, 25 points for: designing and giving a presentation; presentation 45-60 minutes and 10 points for organizing an interactive discussion and/or group work following the presentation; 20-35 minutes.
The grade is calculated as follows: 50 to 54 points for a 4.0, then 55 to 59 points for a 3.7, and so on, up to 95 to 100 points for a 1.0.
The exam is considered passed if it is graded at least satisfactory.
