Classes and lectures:

  • PS1520-S Psyche in Controversy - Classics of Philosophy (seminar, 2 SWS)

Workload:

  • 30 hours in-classroom work

Contents of teaching:

  • Reading, analyzing, interpreting of philosophical texts also in regards to psychological perspectives.
  • Discussions of thought constellations, arguments, and psychological, epistemic and normative perspectives

Qualification-goals/Competencies:

  • Students will be able to identify relevant psychological and philosophical topics and theses and to trace, classify, and evaluate their argumentation in disciplinary terms.
  • They know some basic approaches in psychological philosophy and can discuss them productively.

Grading through:

  • presentation
  • continuous, successful participation in course, >80%
  • B-Certificate (not graded)

Prerequisites for taking the module:
- Interest in the discussion of philosophical topics

Prerequisites for participation in module examination(s):

- Regular attendance with prepared knowledge of the reading. Participants:will prepare at least three questions and comments for each of the sessions. Informed and reflective participation in seminar discussion is expected.
