Contents of teaching:

  • Current theoretical and empirical status of the diversity psychology paradigm.
  • Central theoretical foundations and concepts of diversity-psychological perspectives (e.g. structural discrimination, systemic intersectionality, discrimination-critical diversity)
  • Discrimination Critique Perspectives on Psychological Research and Psychological Perspectives on Discrimination Critique.
  • Theoretical, ethical and practical consequences for psychological fields of application.
  • Options for diversity-sensitive and discrimination-critical work (e.g. with regard to communication, institutional action)
  • Practical transfer
  • Professional policy and academic self-organization in the area of diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity.

Qualification-goals/Competencies:

  • Students are familiar with key concepts, theories, and practices in the areas of diversity psychology.
  • You will be able to examine, classify, and critically discuss scientific literature from a diversity psychology perspective.
  • They know diversity psychological findings and analyses and can present them.
  • They can provide a transfer of psychological concepts and findings into contexts and practices critical of discrimination.
  • They are familiar with discrimination-critical approaches to action and can reflect on and adapt psychological practices in terms of diversity psychology.
