Classes and lectures:
- Introduction to Qualitative Research (seminar, 2 SWS)
Workload:
- 90 hours private studies
- 30 hours in-classroom work
Contents of teaching:
- Introduction to some qualitative methods in psychology
- Entry into source work and research settings in historical science research
- Theories of qualitative research, in particular grounded theory, content and discourse analysis
- Practical approach to the development of an independent qualitative research question (delimitation of the research question, selection of methods, interpretation)
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students gain a first insight into qualitative research.
- They practice developing, describing and partially implementing an independent research project.
- They know basic concepts and some central methods of scientific research and qualitative psychology (especially discourse analysis and guideline-based interviews).
- They can reflect on scientific literature on the above-mentioned topics and discuss them critically in the group.
- They possess skills in interdisciplinary discussion (psychology, philosophy, sociology, history).
