The joint international Master’s programme in Medical Microtechnology builds on the core strengths of the three institutions – Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, the University of Lübeck and SDU Sønderborg – in the fields of health, engineering and life sciences, and strengthens collaboration between academia, industry and hospitals in the field of health technologies in the German-Danish region.
The programme explicitly focuses on the field of miniaturisation, which, on the one hand, encompasses the entire field of minimally invasive surgery (endoscopes, instruments, surgical robots) and, on the other hand, includes, for example, implants for drug delivery. The integration of sensors and actuators opens up new possibilities for diagnosis and treatment.
