First semester welcome

The winter semester 2026/27 starts soon and the University of Lübeck is looking forward to welcoming new students!

The University of Lübeck’s Executive Board will host a formal welcome ceremony for first-year students on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. sharp at St. Petri in Lübeck; the event will last approximately one hour.

The University of Lübeck’s University Church, located in the heart of Lübeck’s historic downtown, serves as a cultural and event venue.

Since 2004, the St. Petri Church of Art and Culture has been a university church and a special venue for ceremonial occasions such as the first semester welcome, graduation and doctoral ceremonies.

St. Petri also hosts events such as lecture series and science slams. Current events and further information about St. Petri in Lübeck can be found at https://www.st-petri-luebeck.de/en.
