Contents of teaching:

  • Topics, history and methods of social psychology
  • Social cognition & social perception
  • Informationprocessing in social context, attitude, conformity and prejudice
  • social psychology of human interaction, communication, interpersonal relation, group dynamics, inter-group relation
  • prosocial behavior and aggression
  • Social psychology and health

Qualification-goals/Competencies:

  • Students have knowledge of basic concepts, theoretical positions, and important scientific findings in social psychology.
  • Students are able to recognize the contribution of social psychology to a better understanding of human experience and behavior.
  • Students can establish connections to general psychology and differential and personality psychology.
  • Students are able to critically evaluate social psychological theories and findings and draw well-founded conclusions about the scope of corresponding insights.
  • Students acquire communication skills through presentations, discussions, group situations, and practical application of basic social psychology concepts.

- Attendance at at least 80% of seminar dates

Module examination(s):
- PY2100-L1: Social Psychology, portfolio exam consisting of: 60 points in the form of a written exam, 30 points in the form of seminar work completed independently throughout the semester, and 10 points for quizzes

The grade is calculated as follows: 50 to 54 points for a 4.0, then 55 to 59 points for a 3.7, and so on, up to 95 to 100 points for a 1.0.
