Workload:

Contents of teaching:
- Introduction to and overview of central concepts, tasks, theories, methods and research areas of differential and personality psychology
- Current paradigms of personality psychology (dispositional, biological, transactional)
- Genetics and environment
- Stability, change, fluctuation and development
- Seminar: Review of lecture content; in-depth study of selected aspects based on literature; current developments and debates in the subject; discussions and presentations
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students are familiar with the basic concepts and tasks of differential and personality psychology.
- You have acquired in-depth knowledge of selected paradigms and personality theories and understand the similarities and differences between them.
- They will be familiarised with the research methods
- You have knowledge that can be linked to other basic and applied disciplines.
- You are able to read, process, critically evaluate, and discuss current specialist articles and book chapters in both German and English.
- The skills to be acquired in the seminar can only be practiced in person, because they involve the skills of discussion, exchange of opinions, and joint reflection on specialist content.

Module examination(s):
- PY2200-L1 Differential Psychology, portfolio exam consisting of:
60 points in the form of a written exam, 40 points in the form of a seminar paper, which is completed independently throughout the semester
The grade is calculated as follows: 50 to 54 points for a 4.0, then 55 to 59 points for a 3.7, and so on, up to 95 to 100 points for a 1.0.
