- Introduction to Planetary Health
- The physiological limits of human heat adaptation
- Air pollution
- Changes in pollen and allergies due to environmental and climate changes
- Environmental change and economic crisis as drivers of pandemics
- Bacteria and other microorganisms: waterborne and vector-borne infectious diseases
- Nutrition and influence on planetary health
- Mental health: Effects of extreme weather events
- Child health in the context of planetary health
- Climate and health equity
- Communication in the context of ecological crises and planetary health
- From knowledge to transformative action
- Developing own project ideas for transformative action
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students will be able to explain the concept of Planetary Health and the links between human health and the state of natural systems
- They can classify the significance of Planetary Health for their own role in the health sector and recognise the need for transformation
- They can classify the scientific background to the topic
- They can demonstrate and justify competences on the topic of 'climate change and health' in the clinical field of work
- They can highlight professional self-reflection on the topic and the importance of the topic for the medical profession
