  • The physiological limits of human heat adaptation
  • Air pollution
  • Changes in pollen and allergies due to environmental and climate changes
  • Environmental change and economic crisis as drivers of pandemics
  • Bacteria and other microorganisms: waterborne and vector-borne infectious diseases
  • Nutrition and influence on planetary health
  • Mental health: Effects of extreme weather events
  • Child health in the context of planetary health
  • Climate and health equity
  • Communication in the context of ecological crises and planetary health
  • From knowledge to transformative action
  • Developing own project ideas for transformative action

Qualification-goals/Competencies:

  • Students will be able to explain the concept of Planetary Health and the links between human health and the state of natural systems
  • They can classify the significance of Planetary Health for their own role in the health sector and recognise the need for transformation
  • They can classify the scientific background to the topic
  • They can demonstrate and justify competences on the topic of 'climate change and health' in the clinical field of work
  • They can highlight professional self-reflection on the topic and the importance of the topic for the medical profession
