Immediately after your admission, please apply for a so-called "Meldung 10 zur Einschreibung an der Universität zu Lübeck" from your statutory health insurance company or, if you are privately insured, please also apply for "Meldung 10" from a statutory health insurance company of your choice. This notification will then be automatically sent digitally by the insurance company to the University.
In accordance with § 199a SGB V, all prospective students must prove to the university before enrolling,
- that they are insured under the statutory health insurance scheme or will be at the beginning of the semester, at the earliest on the day of enrollment, or
- that they are not covered by statutory health insurance because they are exempt from compulsory insurance, exempt from compulsory insurance or not subject to compulsory insurance. In this case, they must also contact a statutory health insurance company of their choice.
Since January 2022, this information has been sent directly to us electronically by the statutory health insurance fund. Sending a copy of the insurance card or a written membership certificate with an application is not sufficient.
Please proceed as follows depending on your health insurance status
- If you are insured with a statutory German health insurance company, please request "Notification 10" from your statutory health insurance company for the start of your studies at the University of Lübeck (company number H 0001115). This is a digital notification from the health insurance company to the university that you are insured with the health insurance company as an independent member or are co-insured with someone else.
- If you are insured with a private German health insurance company OR in possession of a European health insurance card, please contact a statutory health insurance company of your choice with the documents from your private health insurance company or with your European insurance card and request "Notification 10" for the start of your studies at the University of Lübeck (company number H 0001115). The health insurance company uses this to report digitally to the university that you have been exempted from the statutory health insurance obligation.
Notifications between health insurance companies and universities are made via secure and encrypted data transmission.
Please note that you must have any form of health insurance that is not student statutory health insurance checked by a statutory health insurance fund. If your health insurance provides sufficient cover for studying in Germany, the statutory health insurance company can send us digital confirmation of your exemption from the statutory health insurance obligation.
All documents must be uploaded to the application portal. You will also find the applicable deadlines there.
