- Direct solvers for linear equations
- LR decomposition
- Perturbation theory
- Cholesky decomposition
- QR decomposition, least squares fit

- Mastering the modern programming language MATLAB
- Experience in the implementation of theoretical algorithms
- Ability to judge the quality of a method (accuracy, stability, complexity)
