- PY4896-S: Advanced qualitative research methods. (seminar, 2 SWS)

Contents of teaching:
- Introduction and deepening of qualitative research methods with a focus on psychotherapy research (e.g. participant observation, phenomenology)
- Mixed Methods Approaches and Triangulation
- Consolidation of central constructs of contextual psychotherapy research and ethics (e.g. intersectionality, metaethics)
- Application of qualitative methods for questions regarding disorders, diagnosis and treatment in social, ethical and technological contexts (especially digitalization, artificial intelligence, big data)
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students acquire in-depth knowledge of qualitative research approaches and application of mixed-method designs.
- Students receive an overview of the evaluation and interpretation of qualitative research approaches
- Students are familiar with the current debates about social influences and technical transformations in the field and can critically discuss possible consequences.
