- Sleep (seminar, 2 SWS)
Workload:

Contents of teaching:
- Biological and psychological foundations of human sleep
- Sleep-cycles and characteristics of sleep-phases and their measurement
- Improvement of sleep quality and measures for manipulating sleep
- Sleep and memory
- Sleep disturbances and their association with psychiatric disorders (PTSD, depression)
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students gain in-depth knowledge on the importance of sleep for human into the central constructs of social cognition and their typical developmental trajectories.
- Students can distinguish different sleep-phases and are able to correctly identify sleep-disturbances.
- Students know current debates and studies about models on the association between sleep and memory.
- Students correctly understand the role of sleep relevant sleep-disturbances in context of mental disorders.
- Students will be able to critically analyze current literature on sleep research and develop their own initial research questions.
