Classes and lectures:
- PY4202-KP15-Ü2 Advanced practice of psychotherapy with children and adolescents (exercise (practical, skills lab), 3 SWS)
- PY4202-KP15-Ü3 Deepening methods of scientifically tested and recognized psychotherapeutic procedures and new development of psychotherapy. (exercise (practical, skills lab), 3 SWS)
- PY4202-KP15-Ü1 Advanced practice in psychotherapy with adults and the elderly. (exercise (practical, skills lab), 3 SWS)
- PY4206-Ü Supervision (exercise, 1 SWS)
Workload:
- 150 hours in-classroom work
- 300 hours private studies
Contents of teaching:
- Practice of basic psychotherapeutic techniques of scientifically tested and recognized psychotherapeutic procedures with adults and elderly people
- Practice of basic psychotherapeutic techniques of scientifically tested and recognized psychotherapeutic procedures with children and adolescents
- Deepening of methods of scientifically tested and recognized psychotherapeutic procedures
- Scientifically based new developments in psychotherapy
- Conducting initial interviews, problem and goal analyses, and therapy planning
- Conducting general counseling interviews and situationally appropriate interviewing behavior, taking into account participatory decision making.
- Conducting educational discussions with patients and other involved persons about scientific principles and treatment guidelines for the various clinical pictures of different age and patient groups
- Psychoeducational measures
- Teaching the treatment rationale of therapeutic procedures and methods of scientifically tested and recognized psychotherapeutic procedures.
- Role of the therapeutic relationship, in recognizing, addressing and solving problems in the motivation of patients and therapists for treatment and change.
- Indications of and appropriate measures for emergency and crisis situations, including suicidality, threats to children's well-being, experiences of violence, and undesirable developments in the course of treatment
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students will be able to independently and correctly apply basic psychotherapeutic techniques of scientifically tested and recognized psychotherapeutic procedures for children and adolescents, as well as adults and older people.
- Students master situational and patient group appropriate interviewing skills.
- Students can appropriately educate patients and involved individuals about the scientific evidence, disorder models, and treatment guidelines, provide psychoeducation, and conduct counseling sessions.
- Students gain confidence in the role of therapist, are able to grasp aspects of the therapeutic relationship, establish a sustainable therapeutic relationship and address problems that arise as well as contribute to their resolution.
- Students are able to recognize emergency and crisis situations and respond appropriately.
- Students understand the implications of the various basic therapeutic orientations for their therapeutic actions and can orient themselves appropriately within the framework of the underlying paradigms and act accordingly.
- Students are enabled to apply selected psychotherapeutic methods independently.
- Students understand basics and application of current new developments in psychotherapy.

- Regular attendance and participation in the exercises (attendance requirement of at least 80% of the courses)

PThe PY4206-Ü supervision for BQT2 is no longer offered. Instead, PY4202-Ü Advanced Practice in Psychotherapy for Adults and Older Adults (exercise (practice-based, skills lab), with 4 SWS, is offered).
