- Master Psychology - Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy 2022, compulsory, psychology
Classes and lectures:
- PY4201-KP05-S Data analysis and data interpretation (seminar, 2 SWS)
- PY4201-KP05-V Methodology and evaluation for psychologists (lecture, 2 SWS)
Workload:
- 90 hours private studies
- 60 hours in-classroom work
Contents of teaching:
- Structural equation modelling for evaluation variable structure and change
- Network models and their application for symptom-based approaches
- Meta-Analyses
- Replication Crisis
- Open Science
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- Students acquire more profound competences in the planning, analyses, evaluation and interpretation of scientific studies and evidence for observing change
- Students can apply the learned methods and procedures for analyzing complex data using state-of-the-art statistical software and are able to correctly evaluate their output.
- Students develop a deeper understanding of critical debates in psychology as an empirical science and broaden their perspective on the current conceptualizations of psychiatric disorders and their treatment
- Enhanced skills in mathematical, methodological, and analytical thinking
- Extended skill set of solving statistical problems and reaching evidence-based decisions
