Course of studies, specific fields and terms:

  • Master Psychology - Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy 2027, compulsory, psychology
  • Master Psychology - Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy 2022, compulsory, psychology

Classes and lectures:

  • PY4102-KP05-S Treatment planning, documentation and evaluation in the settings of psychotherapy (seminar, 2 SWS)
  • PY4102-KP05-V Applied psychotherapy - care and legal foundations (lecture, 2 SWS)

Workload:

  • 150 hours private studies
  • 60 hours in-classroom work

Contents of teaching:

  • Introduction to the specifics of care systems with special emphasis on mental disorders with disease value for which psychotherapy is indicated
  • Clinical care in the fields of prevention, psychosomatics, neuropsychology and forensics
  • Professional and socio-legal foundations for the practice of psychotherapy
  • Study achievements are to be rendered as active contributions to discussions and participation in the practical exercise units.
  • Psychosocial care, especially in the fields of prevention, neuropsychology and forensics
  • Quality assurance and quality management in health care
  • Methods for testing, securing and further improving psychotherapeutic care

Qualification-goals/Competencies:

  • The students are able to adapt the treatment planning for different settings and under consideration of the specifics of inpatient or outpatient care.
  • The students are able to advise patients and other involved persons appropriately on the basis the specific characteristics and treatment approaches of clinical care.
  • Students know how to transfer patients to appropriate care facilities when needed.
  • Students learn to assess under which circumstances alternative or additive care is indicated and know how to initiate it.
  • The students know how to document their psychotherapeutic activities and can take measures to improve the quality of treatment and ensure patient safety.
  • Students are able to assess the quality of the structure, processes and results of therapeutic and psychosocial measures.
  • Students can evaluate quality management measures.
  • Increased team and leadership skills for interdisciplinary teams in the healthcare sector.

Admission requirements for participation in module examination(s):
- In accordance with §5 of the licensing regulations for psychotherapists (PsychTh-ApprO), 80% attendance is compulsory in this module. Students who are absent more than 3 times per semester cannot be admitted to the examination. No substitutes are provided - Presentation of a case study in the seminar

Exam:
- PY2702-L1: Applied psychotherapy including documentation and evaluation of psychotherapeutic treatments, written exam, 90min, 100% of the module grade
