- Colloquium (presentation (incl. preparation), 1 SWS)
- Master's thesis (supervised self studies, 1 SWS)
Workload:

- 30 hours oral presentation (including preparation)
Contents of teaching:
- Investigating a given problem in mathematics or its application areas and developing a good solution
- Writing a Master's Thesis
- Colloquium to present the results including a discussion with the referees
Qualification-goals/Competencies:
- The students are able to solve a complex scientific problem with state-of-the-art methods.
- Experience in writing a scientific thesis within a given time period
- Becoming an expert in a special subfield of mathematics
- Experience in working with scientific literature
- Presentation skills
